At Flowers and Events Los Cabos, we love to create floral arrangements and provide rentals for all aspects of a couple’s wedding day. One of our favorite design features and possibly the most important focal point of the wedding day - after the newlyweds themselves of course - is the sweetheart table. This Valentine’s Day we’re excited to share some of our favorite sweetheart table designs over the years.
A sweetheart table is set up at the reception for just the bride and groom where they can enjoy the special meal that they’ve dedicated so much time curating together. The sweetheart table should be positioned so that the newlyweds are facing their guests. Naturally, the bride and groom should have the greatest view of the reception space as well as front-row seats to everyone’s speeches and toasts!
Vibrant, boho chic, black-and-white, tropical - the design possibilities are endless, and just like every couple is unique, every sweetheart table is, too. When it comes to designing a sweetheart table, couples typically love to get creative with the decor and there is no right or wrong! Sometimes we suggest repurposing the installation from the ceremony and turning it into the backdrop for the sweetheart table during the reception. No matter what design you choose, it’s worth noting that the sweetheart table will be heavily photographed so we recommend creating a sweetheart table that can serve as a beautiful focal point that is photo-worthy.
Lastly, and this is perhaps the most important reason why we love this particular feature of the wedding day is that the sweetheart table offers a bit of intimacy for the couple during the seated dinner and ensures that the newlyweds get a little one-on-one time to bask in their newlywed bliss. It might be one of only a few private moments the couple gets at their wedding and they should savor every minute! The rest of the time they will most likely be interacting with guests or dancing the night away.
Whether you’re in the process of designing the sweetheart table for your wedding or you’re treating your special someone to a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner, the table setting should be carefully curated for you and your loved one.
